Jo C’s in the national spotlight again!
October was a fantastically busy month for yours truly, with my ales winging their merry way all over the country and into the mouths of thirsty, discerning drinkers everywhere! Among the festivals my beer featured at were Hunts CAMRA’s legendary Booze on the Ouse event, the Norwich Sound & Vision Beer Festival and the Diss Corn Hall Beer Festival, as well as other events in Norwich, Cromer, Rugby in Warwickshire and Mirfield in West Yorkshire. I also found myself doing my bit for the region’s brewers when I was interviewed by Grant Norman of BBC Look East for Cask Beer Week (see picture). The idea of being interviewed used to terrify me, and although I wouldn’t yet describe myself as a ‘dab hand’ when it comes to the media, I’m definitely starting to get the hang of it! An added bonus was getting a national shout out from the lovely Cerys Matthews on my favourite radio station, BBC Six Music, during her interview with female Beer Sommelier of the Year Jane Peyton, whom I’d met at the Plasterers Arms in Norwich during the City of Ale festival. The power of Twitter eh?
