Beer festivals, brewery tours and new retail outlets!
Autumn is upon us and here at the brewery we’re as busy as ever. October saw me attending the official reopening night of The Anchor pub on the banks of the River Cam in the heart of Cambridge’s punting district. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event which attracted a big turnout and everyone present seemed to have a great time. It was particularly nice to see plenty of people sampling my ales and I received some very favourable feedback from discerning punters. I also hosted my first brewery tour when nine members of Swaffham Lions Club popped over to The Old Store to see how I turn the finest malting barley in the world into Norfolk Kiwi, Bitter Old Bustard and Knot Just Another IPA. They were very inquisitive and I was delighted to be able to answer their questions and take the opportunity of enlightening them as to how brewing was traditionally a woman’s job. It was lovely to see them taking such an interest. The month ended with the 36th annual Norwich Beer Festival and I’d like to thank Norwich CAMRA once again for making it such a great occasion. I really enjoyed meeting so many friends – old and new – from the brewing industry and talking to fellow enthusiasts about the great beer we brew in this country, particularly in Norfolk!
